Hi, dear Mr. Agnello,I have just read your book " The Magic Glove" and I have to write to you that it really is magic!
The book made a fantastic impression on me! It is a real piece of "real" literature!
The plot of the story is keeping you in suspense and wonder from the very start to the last line of the book, that is absolutely wonderfully structured.
Your knowledge of baseball and the feelings people experience around this game, that is often defining lives is amazing. I was carried away with the story, unable to stop reading the book , intrigued by the fight between the good and the evil that the novel represents in the most unusual and unique way.
The characters of the story are very well written. They are alive, vibrant, and so recognizable! What amazed me most is that you made the Light , that is representing God to us , a special character in the novel. It is the light that shines in the mind of the main character, Eddie, through out the book. It is the light that stops him from doing wrong, the light that becomes his mission to let Billy, his role model in life, be released to the Light of the Heaven and out of the darkness of his prior actions. It is the Light that gives him the pass to do so and that keeps us breathtakingly interested until the very resolution of the conflict in the book.
This book is extremely instructional for our young generation. It makes the reader think about his/ her essence of existence . We are led to delve into the very depth of our souls . We get the message to be in charge of our thoughts and actions and that the crowd mentality of baseball is often blinding to people. It enlightens us to abandon the mob mentality and to follow our hearts and souls and be our own person. The book is so deep and so timely !
The message of your novel is actually universal because it touches the very core, the very essence of life , the eternal fight between light and darkness . I have recently read in the magazine" Scientific American Mind" about The Law of the Right Human Behavior discovered by a great physicist Richard W. Wetherill back in 1929. The law states that right thoughts and behaviors get right results at all times, and it shows the reverse effect of wrong thoughts and behaviors in our lives. Your novel is a great illustration of this law. It teaches the reader how not to do the right thing in a wrong way, and how important it is to stay away from anything that keeps you in the dark and would not let you pass into the light of life.
I also admired your language. It is rich in imagery, in stylistic devices , in the diversity of the vocabulary that is very descriptive , precise, and incredibly to the point. The choice of words is amazing! It makes you really marvel at the beauty of the English language that is often neglected in the present day literature. Thank you so much for that! Reading the book gave me a real aesthetic pleasure that , as a linguist, I could not but experience with a reverence to your talent.

The Magic Glove is an amazing story that you just have to read. You will not be able to put this wonderful book down. It is filled with twists and turns and life lessons. The characters are true to life, they could be your brother, friend or you may find yourself looking in the mirror. There is a spiritual connection that is demonstrated in this story that one can identify with. It a book that you will want to make part of your personal library! The author is an unbelievable writer. I highly recommend this novel. Enjoy!
